We all have them. Whether it’s written as a Bucket List, Pinterest board or just an ongoing conscious list of places and things we all want to do. This trip to Bali has been incredible and laid back — something my “vacations” usually aren’t. Bali allowed me to just relax and enjoy where I was, so much so that on the second-to-last-day, I woke up with a cold.
Now, this was entirely my fault. I had failed to take my Italian mother’s advice, and I fell asleep in air conditioning with my hair soaking wet. Never a good idea.
And with two days left in this tropical paradise, I refused to let a measly cold hold me back from enjoying my hard earned two weeks v-a-c-a-t-i-o-n.
We left Canggu and had our driver, Nyoman, drive us two hours to Ubud, where we found ourselves at HANGING GARDENS — A place that has been on my Pinterest “Must go/see/do/WANDERLUST” board for years.
Just to swim in the magnificent infinity pools cost an arm and a leg, and don’t even think about booking a room there unless you’re a well-established career woman making the big bucks (not me), so the four of us opted for lunch by the pool. Which was a sweet deal. For $45 per person, we got a four-course meal on the pool deck. The view was perfect — overlooking two huge infinity pool and a vast lush green valley of Ubud.
The food wasn’t half bad, too.
