The thing about being in a new place is that I want to do absolutely everything there is to do. With my Lonely Planet book in hand, I’ve tabbed pages and highlighted things I must-see and do, here I am! In Bali, Indonesia. Finally.
What are we going to do? Well, this morning started out with waking up with the sun! We’re staying in Canggu, a little beach town in south Bali, in a massive villa with four other people. There’s a pool in the middle of our villa, air conditioning in each bedroom, a huge dining area, and everything about this place is just beautiful and magical and cheap — minus the mosquitoes. But really, this airbnb cost us $170/night (that’s divided by 6 people!).
Anyway, back to our first morning here. We woke up at the crack of dawn and I mopeded down to Batu Balong/Old Man‘s Beach — about 5 mins away from our villa. No one was there yet except me and the three guys in our group and we watched the sun rise and scoped out the surf.
The waves were way too big for me but it was nice to walk along the beach, take photos and read while the guys surfed. For about an hour or so, I sat on the shore, did my devotions and read. It was probably the most relaxed I’ve been in months.
